Liberty PTSA: This month’s meeting has been moved to Wednesday, Oct 22nd at 7pm/DECA room 121.
It is not tonight.
Please mark 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23rd, on your calendar for a critical conversation about education finance at the Administration Building. We are at a crossroads for quality public education in the State of Washington. Jennifer Priddy—the Assistant Superintendent of Fiscal Services for the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction—will make the trip from Olympia to give her comprehensive “Financial Outlook” presentation, which outlines some of the perils facing our public education system now and in the future. Following, our local legislators on the Basic Education Finance Joint Task Force, Reps. Glenn Anderson and Ross Hunter, will speak about their statewide school funding proposal coming out in December to address the deficits. The Task Force has been working for more than a year to redefine “basic education” and develop an appropriate funding mechanism for public education. Audience members can ask questions after each presenter.
Tue., October 28th, 7:00 PM: School Board candidate second-level interviews. Initial interviews were on Monday October 20th. This person will represent the southeastern part of the Liberty service area. Please come out and learn more about your school board. Profiles are available on the district website at www.issaquah.wednet.edu
