Hello Liberty Families:

As promised in our earlier e-news sent Monday, August 3rd, I am providing additional details and specific directions regarding our Summer Check-In process.  We go “live” on Monday, August 17th!  Are you ready?

I need to stress that all incoming students MUST complete the Summer Check-In process!  This includes both full-time and part-time Running Start students.

Prior to beginning the Summer Check-In, it will be helpful to review the detailed directions found at http://www.issaquah.wednet.edu/schools/high/registration  AND have the following items readily available to streamline the process for on-line financial transactions:

To begin the online Summer Check-In process, open Family Access.  You must use the primary parent login and password to complete the Summer Check-In process.  If you are a single, head-of-household, use your login.  If there are two parents/guardians considered head-of-household, please use the female’s login first.  If you have forgotten your login and/or password, follow the steps below:

Once you log into Family Access, follow the registration steps, which ultimately allows you to view your student’s schedule.

Our consistent message from last spring remains the same.  Our Liberty High School master schedule and ultimately our students’ schedules were created using the registration forms that each student initially submitted during our 2009/2010 Registration Process.  In late spring, we provided two (2) opportunities when the schedules were available to view on family/student access and changes requests were accepted.  At this point, no schedule changes will be made.    Let me say that again… at this point, no schedule changes will be made.

Having said that (twice), I understand that very limited exceptions to the rule will be necessary, and we will address those exceptions on a case-by-case basis.   Those exceptions are limited to the following scenarios:

If your 9th – 11th grade student has an empty period as stated in #1 above, contact Ms. Riding at ridingl@issaquah.wednet.edu or by calling 425-837-4853 to discuss what classes have space available to fill that period.   Seats in popular electives are very limited so please have an open mind when calling.  You may not get your 1st or 2nd or even 3rd choice, but she will do her best to find a class that will meet your needs.

If your student has any other schedule issue such as #2 or #3 above, or they are an incoming Senior with schedule issues, including empty periods, you must contact your students’ counselor directly.  Counselors will gather information and submit any requests for changes to the administrative team who will make the decision of whether or not the change will be allowed.

Because the counselors work limited hours between now and the start of school, we are recommending email communication be used in regards to schedule change exceptions.  Please type “SCHEDULE ISSUE – Student Name” in the subject line and give as much information/details as possible in your email message including a phone number where you and/or your student can be reached.   Emails will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis so do not delay.  Given the counselors’ limited hours prior to the start of school, please be patient in waiting for a response.  DO NOT SEND MULTIPLE EMAILS for the same issue.  This will just slow the counselors down.

Dorothy Hay, students with last names beginning with H - N

I hope this information is helpful to you as we all move forward to the 2009/2010 school year.  If you plan to visit the building prior to the start of school, please check our website at www.liberty.issaquah.wednet.edu for August building hours.  For your convenience, we will be open from Noon to 7pm on August 17th and August 25th where the office staff will be here to assist you.

Enjoy the remaining days of summer!  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Mike Deletis,

Principal
