Hello Liberty Parents,
Today was a great start to the school year with over 200 Freshman on campus working with Liberty upperclassmen ‘LINK Leaders’. We had a great turnout of parents for our parent question and answer session and we ended the orientation with a BBQ lunch. The commons, courtyard, and lobby area was filled with student, staff, and parent energy and laughter.
Our first day of school is tomorrow, Wednesday – September 2nd and it’s an A day. School begins at 9:40 and dismisses at 2:42. All Wednesdays, including the first day of school are late start days. Tomorrow is also ‘Picture Day’. The bell schedule and the picture rotation schedule are attached to this e-News. Picture re-take day will be on Thursday, October 1st.
Student Schedules – All students have the classes they signed up for, however, they may be in a different order than the schedule they looked at online in the past few weeks. Students with the following classes (Sport Med 1, Hon Eng 10, Alg 1, Spanish 1, and 9th grade physical science) may have had their schedule altered. Since we have had last minute changes to schedules we are asking that every student print and/or check their schedule on Wednesday morning before they come to school.
Student Planners will be handed out the first few days of school by the administrators. The planner includes the student handbook which includes code of conduct and attendance policies.
Bus information is in the mail. Watch for a bright yellow postcard! You can also look up your student’s bus information on line at the following site: http://www.issaquah.wednet.edu/family/transportation/elink.aspx. The district is not authorizing bus passes for buses other than the one assigned for your primary address at this time as the routes need to settle. No changes will be allowed until after September 16th.
Friday night events: The first week of school ends with a home football game against Ballard. The game starts at 7pm and we have an after game dance. The dance ends at 11pm. Please be at Liberty to pick up your student by 11pm.
Curriculum Night will be held on Tuesday, September 29th beginning at 6:30. This is a valuable meeting time to meet your student’s teacher and hear the plans the teacher has for their class this year.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of our students tomorrow!
