Dear Briarwood, Maywood, and Liberty families:

After a police pursuit through our school neighborhoods last Friday, Sept. 4, the King County Sheriff’s Office will hold an informational community meeting to provide clarification and answer questions about the incident at  7 p.m. next Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Liberty High School auditorium.

The car chase was non-school related and happened after school hours. The Sheriff’s Office, however, places a high value on partnering with the local communities it serves, and officers would like the opportunity to meet with families who may have questions about why the pursuit happened in our residential neighborhoods.  They also want to answer any other questions about their role in the community and meet residents face to face.  During the meeting, there will be a short presentation and then the floor will be open to audience members.

Deputy Montalvo, who serves as the Security Resource Officer out of Liberty High, says he looks forward to meeting you and furthering the spirit of teamwork.
