Hello Liberty Community……

 

I am writing to inform you that on Thursday after school, ISD Superintendent, Dr. Rasmussen met with the Liberty staff. He informed us that beginning in Sept. 2009; Liberty High school will be on a six period day. Therefore, the block schedule will remain for one more school year. I also spoke with the staff and explained to them the sequence of meetings that I have been involved in and my opinion about the change with our schedule. I will talk more with parents and any students at an upcoming meeting which will be announced soon. I realize that the block schedule is part of what makes Liberty High School unique and I know this change will bring about many emotions and questions. I can promise you as we navigate through this transition as a community, we will communicate clearly and honestly. It will take time to work through all of the issues and questions related to this change. However, once the news of this change settles in and people reflect on their emotions, we have every intention of building off of the many passions and strengths of our staff, students, and community. Our goal is to celebrate and make Liberty a great high school. This is possible when we do it together.
