PARENTS OF JUNIORS!

SAT PREP COURSE NOW OFFERED AT LIBERTY!

Now is a good time to register your junior student to take the 2008 SAT test by going on-line to www.collegeboard.com. Registering now will help you get to choose the closest location for taking the test. While you're thinking about it, Liberty now offers a chance for your student to improve their score on this test (and their chances of college admission and scholarship options) by offering an SAT Prep course at our school. We are finalizing the dates for our winter/spring class. More information will follow in January about our SAT Prep class.

Liberty Parents

Liberty High School is looking for a parent representative to serve on the district's Boundary Review Committee, which will recommend a district-wide border configuration to the School Board to ensure that all schools have the right balance of student enrollment and resources in the future. Every school will have a principal and parent voting representative on the committee who will be responsible for setting aside personal interests to find boundary solutions that are best for Liberty and the district as a whole. Applications are available on our website www.liberty.issaquah.wednet.edu. They are also available in the main office and must be returned by December 14th. Our site council will select a representative during our January meeting. The Boundary Review Committee is scheduled to convene on January 30th and meet about every other Wednesday through June. All meetings will be open to the public, and minutes will be posted online. The new boundaries will begin to go into effect fall of 2009, when Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus will convert to a middle school and Skyline and Issaquah High will reclaim their freshmen. The committee will have the authority to look at all boundary options, and it should be close to a final recommendation by the end of the school year. Contact Mike Deletis deletism@issaquah.wednet.edu  or Jeanette Were werrej@issaquah.wednet.edu for more information about the application process.

Senior Parents: Learn More about Liberty's Grad Night Parties and Start Planning Your Party Now.   Already have a Senior?  Buy your Ticket before March 1, 2008 for $175

Every June, Liberty parents sponsor an All-Night Graduation Party that is a safe, fun alternative to the worry of private parties or road trips.  After the graduation ceremony, students are transported to two venues for the party by private bus, fed a late dinner, lots of snacks, beverages and breakfast.  They're chaperoned and entertained all night, and there are many nice prizes and giveaways.  Some of the activities planned for the Class of 2008 party include:  Dancing with a light show and DJ, casino games with professional dealers, henna tattoos, caricature artist, climbing wall, inflatable Sumo wrestling, pool tables, Fear Factor entertainer with special effects, video games, hypnotist and a morning latte cart.   Students are then brought back by private bus in the morning for you to pick up.  Of course, the destinations are secret, for security purposes, but everyone is guaranteed a good time!

If you've already got a Senior and haven't purchased a Grad Night Party ticket yet, you'll want to do that soon before the ticket price increases again.  Ticket prices are currently $175 through March 1, 2008.  Mail your check payable to LHS Grad Night to:  LHS Grad Night Party, 6947 - Coal Creek Pkwy SE, #208, Newcastle, WA 98059.   2008, Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, June 12th at Safeco Field starting at 5PM.  The ceremony will be over by 7PM.  Students need to be back at Liberty by 9:30PM to catch the bus for the All-Night Party.  Buses leave Liberty at 10PM sharp.  Students are not allowed to bring cell phones, purses, bags or any carry-on items for security reasons.  More detailed instructions will be provided in June but mark your calendars now.
