Drama Alum. Vicki Noon,
former LHS student, has been performing
the lead in the Broadway National Tour
of Mamma Mia. She’s been all over the
country and this is an excerpt from
their latest review… As expected for
a Broadway touring production, all of
the actors can sing, but one cast member
stands out. Vicki Noon as Sophie has the
strong, clear-as-a- Belle voice of a
Disney heroine. It's a great pleasure
whenever she takes the spotlight. If
anyone is interested in seeing the
production this summer, they will be in
Portland from July 23rd through the
29th. You can see pictures from the
show at:

Sports Reporters get Byline. Juniors
Josh Trager and Tyler Watson took
an opportunity provided by the Issaquah
Press to write a sports story for the paper.
The sports editor needs extra help during
the spring season. Their article about a
soccer game between Liberty and Skyline
appeared in the 4/11 issue of the Press.

Liberty senior Kaylin Takata has
received the WAVE (Washington Award for
Vocational Excellence) Scholarship. This
is a very prestigious award and one that is
very hard to get. Graduating seniors are
eligible for this award if they complete a
minimum of 360 hours in a single career and
technical program, which Kaylin has done in
Sports Medicine. Up to three WAVE recipients
are selected in each legislative district
based on occupational proficiency,
leadership and community service. WAVE
recipients receive grants for undergraduate
study at any of the two or four year public
universities, accredited independent
colleges or universities, or licensed
private vocational schools in Washington
State. Congratulations Kaylin! |

April Rotary Students of the Month.
Congratulations to:
Clair Bergam – Liberty Female Athlete
of the Year. Clair is a 4-year letter
winner in Girls’ Basketball and is a
compassionate and committed young adult. She
excels both offensively and defensively on
the court, all while maintaining a 3.50 or
better grade point average, earning her
scholar athlete recognition. Clair has
received All KingCo League’s Honorable
Mention recognition for the past three
years, and her drive and determination on
and off the court will help Clair to be
successful in any of her future endeavors.
Ryan Peterson – Liberty Male Athlete
of the Year. Ryan is a three-year
letterman in both baseball and basketball
and has emerged in to a well-rounded
individual. Coach Bilanko has had the
pleasure of coaching Ryan on the Varsity
level in basketball for the past three
years. Ryan maintains a 3.3 grade point
average, and his successes academically have
no doubt paved the way for his successes
athletically. Ryan’s perseverance, level of
commitment, and leadership were major
factors in the Varsity Basketball team’s
success this year. Ryan will be attending
Washington State University in the fall to
play baseball, and because his level of
commitment is so great, he will be
successful in whatever he chooses to pursue
in his future. |

similar to the dilemmas that Rachel Corrie

Corrie. Nice work students: Michelle
