What does NJROTC stand for?
Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps

What experience are you required to have prior to joining NJROTC?

NJROTC is a hands on experience, where you learn many leadership skills as a follower and a leader. No one is required to have any experience prior to joining. Also you have two teachers teaching separate student levels from 9th graders in one group and 10-11 in another group about the elements of the military and fun story experiences.  This course WILL HAVE A POSITIVE impact on your self-confidence and discipline. If you decide instead to enter the civilian job market or a non-military oriented college, the leadership skills, self-discipline and self-confidence will continue to help you meet life's challenges throughout your life.

Are you required to join the military after your time in NJROTC?

Joining the military is an open option to students who decide to take that path as their career but is not mandatory.  Successful completion of the NJROTC program allows entry into the military at up to two pay grades higher than enlistees without JROTC experience. With complete dedication and hard work, cadets fulfill their highest expectations and goals. Cadets have been accepted into exceptionally high-rated universities and into military academies to become officers in the military.  Many scholarships are available to those cadets that apply for college ROTC and the military academies, some worth in excess of $288,000.  These are just a few paths that NJROTC opens up to the cadets enrolled in Naval Science.

What do you learn during your time in NJROTC?

The Naval Science curriculum is a 4 year program offered, consisting of formal academic instruction, military skill development, and physical fitness training taught by staff cadets who have been in the same situation and learned leadership by ebing followers and Leaders. The NJROTC curriculum includes twenty four different subject areas from Naval orientation and seamanship to astronomy and oceanography, history from early western civilization to the 1990's and beyond.  Throughout, strong emphasis is placed on leadership, personal honor, self-reliance and self-discipline.

What are the uniform days and which uniform am I expected to wear?
Every cadet has been issued each uniform parts and will be informed each class day for ROTC or posted on the website. So make sure you keep in touch of others if you forget. Uniform days are scheduled as Thursdays/Fridays due to our A-day and B-day classes So you will wear them which ever class day you have ROTC.

Co-curricular activities?
NJROTC has precision drill teams, rifle team, color guards, orienteering teams and more.  Each of these activities allows you the opportunity to earn a school varsity letter.  You can also earn ribbons and other awards. In addition, social activities include: the annual Navy Ball, awards banquet, picnics,  BBQ's and lots more.
