
Phillip Donley received his Bachelors degree('98) and Masters degree('01) in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. While at VanderCook Mr. Donley performed in several ensembles including the VCM Symphonic Band, Choir, and Saxophone Quartet. He also played in several area orchestras, bands, and jazz ensembles. Currently Mr. Donley serves as Immediate Past President on the VanderCook College of Music Alumni Board and has served as a representative on the VanderCook College of Music Board of Trustees. He has also been a staff member at the annual Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic for the last 13 years.
In addition to teaching at Liberty High School. Phillip Donley recently took on the job as Artistic Director for the Bellevue Community Band. The Bellevue Community Band is an 80+ piece ensemble with musicians of all ages and ability levels that performs in the greater Seattle area throughout the year. It is open to any musicians, so if there are any parents or alumni that are looking for an opportunity to perform again, this is your chance. This year is Mr. Donley's 4th year teaching at Liberty High School. Prior to his employment at Liberty High School, he taught at Loyola Academy College Preparatory High School in Wilmette, IL (a Chicago Suburb) for 6 years, where he served as director of bands.
Mr. Donley directs the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, and the Liberty Garage Band. He also teaches Guitar I, II, III, Music Appreciation, and World Drumming.
