The End of the Year is Near!

That's right gang, the year is quickly coming to an end, but we still have a lot of work remaining during this home stretch. Here are some upcoming events for students and parents. Be sure to visit the Band "POPS" Reservation Page to reserve your table for our big end of the year concert.

Band Parent Meeting 5/21/09

Thursday, May 21, 2009 will be 1 of 2 band parent meetings taking place before the end of the year. Thursday's meeting will be "POPS" Concert related. Now that the music is almost ready to go, the band needs your help to organize the final details. Let's make this the best Band "POPS" Concert ever!

Liberty Band "POPS" Concert

June 1st is our 5th Annual Liberty Band "POPS" Concert. This year's theme is "British Invasion", so be prepared to hear the music of some of the most prolific British composers as well as some music by American composers that is loosely tied to British pop culture. It will definitely be a lot of fun for the whole community.

Enjoy performances by the Liberty Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and combined High School  & 8th Grade Bands. As always we will be joined by the combined elementary school students that make up the Liberty "Recorder All-Stars"

Doors Open @ 6:30 p.m.
Concert Begins @ 7:00 p.m.

$5 for adults
$4 for students
FREE for children 12 & under (must be accompanied by an adult)

Graduation Performance

This year is the Liberty Band's turn to perform for graduation. Since we are limited to one bus full of students, the Liberty Wind Ensemble is the primary ensemble for this event. Since we will be graduating several seniors, any students enrolled in Wind Ensemble next year that are currently in Symphonic Band will be asked to perform with this group, especially these instruments:

Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, French Horn, and Trombone.

We will only need 3 percussionists, so upper classmen will cover the parts.
