*UW registration forms were due October 1st.  If you'd still like to register after that date, you need to contact the university directly.

*Here is the information for the textbooks we use:

            * Rounsaville, Angela, Rachel Goldberg, Keith Feldman, Cathryn Cabral, and Anis Bawarshi. Situating Inquiry: An Introduction to Reading, Research, and Writing at the University of Washington.  Boston: Bedford/ St. Martin's, 2008.

            * Stygall, Gail.  Reading Context.  Boston: Thomson Wadsworth, 2005.

*What should I do with my registration information?

Once students are registered, they will receive a transaction summary/confirmation of their enrollment.  Students should keep this document.  It contains the student's permanent UW identification number, course information, and is a receipt for payment.  It also provides access to the UW Libraries.

*How do I get my student ID?

Upon enrollment, students will be assigned a UW student ID number.  This is a seven-digit number that is the student's official University of Washington student identification number.  The UW ID number is printed on the Transaction Summary mailed to students after registering for their class.  Remind them to keep a copy of their numbers in a safe place.  UW student ID numbers are not released over the telephone.

*How do I get a UW transcript?

As soon as UWEO receives final grades from a teacher, they are sent to campus for recording.  Students should wait two weeks from the time the teacher sends in final grades to the time s/he asks for a transcript.  There is a $4 fee for an official transcript.  The number of the transcript office is (206) 543-5940 and the web site is http://www.washington.edu/students/reg/transcripts.html.

*Will my credit transfer to other colleges?

While the courses offered through UWHS are generally widely transferable to other Institutions, there is no way UW can guarantee that another institution will accept credits earned through UWHS.  To be certain, students are advised to contact someone in the admissions office of the school they think they might attend and explain the situation.  Students should keep a portfolio of their work, a copy of the course syllabus and information regarding grading policies.  In some cases, an institution may not give a student credit for the course but may recognize the student's successful work in other ways.  Strategies for gaining recognition of UWHS credit are laid out in the UWHS website www.uwhs.washington.edu.  Information on recognition of UWHS credit at various institutions is also listed on the website.

*What if I need to withdraw from UW credit?

To withdraw, students e-mail uweoreg@extn.washington.edu with their full name, UW ID, course name and 5-digit registration number, and a statement indicating they wish to withdraw from the course.  The same information can also be faxed to UWEO Registration at 206-685-9359 or mailed to UWEO Registration at 4311 11th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98105.  Students do not recieve refunds for UWHS classes from wich they withdraw.  The deadline for withdrawal is December 12th.

*Who do I contact if I have questions?

The first point of contact for any questions should be the teacher offering the course.  If a teacher is unable to answer a question, please feel fee to contact us (UWHS) directly by calling (206)221-6223 or emailing us at smatson@extn.washington.edu
