ANNOUNCEMENTS
Team awards night was held June 9th to
celebrate an outstanding year. Plaque winners were:
Most Outstanding - Emily Pestil-Dimmitt & Josh Gordon, Most
Valuable - Peter Stacy, Most Inspirational - Liz Ryker, Most
Improved - Devin Bennett & Lexie McGinnis. All pictures
from the slide show will be loaded into the photo pages.
Uniforms should now all be turned in. Fines
for missing gear will be issued on 6-11, any remaining items turned
in after that date must be cleared by the Athletics office or paid
for.
STATE MEET 2010
5-29-10 -
Boys break 1600R again, 7th in
team standings.  In the most exciting finish of the day,
the Boys just missed their 2nd 1600 Relay crown posting
their 2nd School Record of the meet. Final day
highlights were Eric Bice taking 6th in the 800,
 
Devin Bennett was 8th in the Triple Jump
with a mark of 44' 8",
missing the school record by 3/4",

and the girls 4x200 team finishing 7th
overall.

Gordon breaks LJ record for
2nd, Stacy 3rd in Jav -

Josh Gordon inched past Ken Jones on the
board with a 22' 2" leap, 1" behind the 3A state winning
jump.

Peter, throwing into a strong

also medaled
in the Discus
by finishing 7th.

Eric Bice led the entire way in his 800
heat to advance to the finals.

Just out of the medals was Devin
Bennett, 9th in the Long Jump. Troy went down hard on
the 9th hurdle in the 300H in the heats but still finished
the race.

BOYS Break 1600R Record
On the 1st day of competition, the
Patriot team of Solly, Bice, Bennett & Gordon broke the
state meet winning time of 2007 with a win in the prelims.
The Girls 4x200 continues to finals on Sat. but the 4x400
team failed to move on despite running their best time of
the year in the deepest 3A field ever at State.
Hamilton Noel cleared 12'6" to take 9th in the PV.

BOYS DISTRICT CHAMPS!

5-21-10 -
District, Day 2
- Led by Josh Gordon (1st in Long Jump & 4x400, 2nd in High
Jump & 8th in Triple Jump)
and Peter Stacy (1st
in Javelin, 2nd in Discus & 5th in Shot),
 
the Liberty Boys won their 1st ever
Sea-King District title with 100 pts over Bellevue's 87.
Meet highlights included a dramatic come-from-behind victory
for the Boys 4x400 team, the Girls 4x200 & 4x400 teams
moving on to State,

and a 2-3 finish in the Pole Vault for
Alex Faulkner & Hamilton Noel.

Troy Solly moves on to State with a 4th in
the 300 hurdles and Eric Bice broke his week old 800m
record, placing 3rd in 1:54.87.

DISTRICT, DAY 1: Stacy
District Javelin Champ -
Despite periods of hard rain and wind, Peter
Stacy came through with a 179' 5" throw to become the 1st
Champion of the meet for Liberty.
 
Next up was Eric Bice with a 3rd place in
the 1600,

then Emily Pestil-Dimmitt took 4th in the
High Jump.

Devin Bennett was 2nd in the Triple Jump
(Josh Gordon 8th) and then qualified for the 800 finals on
Fri.

All the relay teams qualified for finals
on Friday and Megan Chucka set a PB in qualifying in the
800.

KINGO, DAY 2: Gordon ties
HJ record @ 6' 5", Bice lowers 800 record to 1:55.37.
  
Despite winning 9 of 17 events, 2 school
records broken and 1 tied, the Liberty Boys came up
short against Bellevue in finishing 2nd at Kingco. It
was a great day with Josh Gordon tying the school record
in the High Jump @ 6' 5" for the win.

Ian Smith) won the 800 in a school record 1:55.37.
Hamilton Noel & Alex Faulkner went 1 ~2 in the Pole
Vault with Devin Bennet & Josh Gordon going 1 ~ 2 in the
Triple Jump.

Peter Stacey won his 3rd event, adding
the Discus title to the Jav record on Wed.

Also crowned as a Kingco Champ was
Troy Solly in the 300 hurdles.
The girls didn't have any individual
winners but the 4x200 & 4x400 relays came away with
victories.
 
5-12-10 -
KINGCO, DAY 1: STACY BREAKS JAV RECORD -186' 3"

With 4 events complete, the boys were
ahead of Bellevue 48 ~ 44, led by Peter Stacy's #1 in the
Javelin with a new school record of 186' 3"
and 2nd in the Shot
Put. Josh & Devin went 1 ~2 in the Long Jump
and Eric Bice won an exciting duel in the
1600.

The girls had no individual winners, but
Megan Chucka moves on to District in the 1600 by finishing
3rd and there were many qualifiers for the Friday finals.

5-10-10 - The
Patriots will take over 50 athletes to this years Kingco
meet, almost equally divided between the boys & girls teams.
We will have bus transportation for the Varsity meet Wed &
Fri and coach/parent transportation for the JV meet on Thurs. The Kingco meet sched is
here,
the JV meet is run like a dual meet where everyone not
entered in the Varsity meet can compete in their event with
no advance sign-up or schedule. Athletes who need
transportation to JV Kingco should have a field trip form in
their possession.
5-6-10 - BOYS REMAIN
UNDEFEATED FOR 2010.

With the sun shining down, the Patriot's boys
team pulled out all the stops to defeat visiting Issaquah &
Skyline in the Issaquah District Meet, Liberty 65, Skyline
61 & Issaquah 55. Peter Stacy led the
way again for the boys
with 3 wins in the throws, with Troy Solly winning both
hurdle races. Eric Bice broke the Liberty 3200 record with
a strong solo run and Devin Bennett added a foot to his
personal best in winning the Triple Jump. The boys
were also undefeated in Kingco competition in 2008.

The girls competed hard against their
powerful 4A rivals. picking up wins by Liz Ryker in
the 400 and Megan Chucka in a thrilling 800. Big PR's
were set by Kaily Davies in the 1600 & 3200 and Michaela
Chucka in the 400. Final scores were Skyline 91,
Issaquah 48 & Liberty 39 The girls finish 5-3 for the year.
5-1-10 - The girls started the day @
the Lake Washington Invite where Emily (300H), Maddie Hughes
(1500) & Liz (100 & 200) recorded personal bests. In
the afternoon Shoreline Meet, Troy (300H) & Peter (Jav) did
the same with Devin & Troy getting equal 51.5 sec splits in
the 1600R.
4-29-10 - The
Boys kept the streak alive, now 6-0 for the year, with a

win against
Eastlake.
The girls are 5-1 with a 107 ~ 29 win. Big
winners were Peter Stacy, winning all the throws with a
personal best 49' 4" in the shot. Troy Solly and Josh
Gordon had 2 individual wins each. Emily Pestl-Dimmitt took
home 3 wins by adding the High Jump to both her hurdles
victories. 8 Patriot girls had individual wins.
Lots of personal bests were set on a great day for
competing.
4-24-10 - It was windy most of the day but didn't
rain @ the Bellevue Invite. Liberty's best result was the
boys 4x400 team which placed 2nd in a very close finish.
Peter Stacy picked up a pair of thirds in the Jav & Disc
with Liz Ryker (200m) Troy Solly (110H) and Emily Pestil-Dimmitt
(100H) all placing 4th in their events. Complete results

4-22-10 - By the very slimmest of margins, the
Liberty boys beat Issaquah 73 ~ 72, led by outstanding
throws by Peter Stacy
who came away with 3 wins. Troy Solly & Josh Gordon were
close behind with 2 individual wins apiece, with single
winners Devin Bennett & Eric Bice bringing home the victory
in the 1600 relay in their seasons best time. The boys
are now 5-0 on the year
The girls had a tougher time of it, with Issaquah winning 94 ~
52. The team had individual wins by Maddie Birdsall, Megan
Chucka, Emily Pestil-Dimmitt & Hannah Blue to bring their record
to 4-1.
4-17-10 - Eric Bice missed breaking his 1600 school record by
.01 sec. in leading the Patriot scorers at the Eason Invite,
placing 2nd in an exciting race under gray skies. Leading
the girls was Emily Pestil-Dimmit with a 3rd in the 100 hurdles
and Maddie Birdsall with a 4th in the 400. The girls 4x400
ran their seasons best to take home the silver with the boys
taking 6th. Other scorers were Devin Bennett, 8th in
Triple Jump and Troy Solly 5th in 300 hurdles.

4-15-10 - Blue was the theme of the day @ Interlake, Blue
skies, Blue track and Hannah Blue winning the Long Jump (and the
treat of the week award) in a personal Best. Girls score -
Liberty 86, Interlake 63. Lots of individual winners and
the relays won all three events. Hannah also
was responsible for design & ordering all the Track & Field gear
for this years team.
For the boys, Josh Gordon led the charge with 3 firsts. Devin
Bennett, Troy Solly & Peter Stacey each had 2 indiv. firsts to
take home the team title 91 to 55.

4-10-10 - Sun visited the Liberty Invite and Patriot athletes
responded by winning both the Boys & Girls team titles with Eric Bice adding Outstanding Male Athlete to his 3 gold medals.
Liz Ryker led the girls with 4 golds, Maddie Birdsall with 3.

4-8-10 - After relaxing Spring Break, the Patriots
had an impressive outing against 4A Kingco opponents @ Lake
Washington HS. The Girls won their 1st Tri-Meet in many years:
Liberty - 97, Eastlake - 60, Lake Wash - 21. Sharing top
honors with 3 victories each were Maddie Birdsall, Delane Agnew &
Liz Ryker.
The Field Events carried both teams by winning
every event except the Pole Vaults & girls Long Jump. For the
Boys, also sharing 3 victories apiece were Peter Stacey & Josh Gordon, leading to: Liberty - 94.5, Eastlake - 62.5, LW -

3-25-10 - Liberty's 1st home meet of the year was
a great success with the Boys victorious 95 ~ 52 and the Girls 71 ~
70. Multiple winners included Josh Gordon, Peter Stacey, Devin
Bennett & Eric Bice for the Boys and Sofie Safely for the girls.
The Parent volunteers who helped time, measure, judge and sell
concessions did a fantastic job and it was appreciated by all the

3-18-10 - Led by Captain Charlie Kleiner, team
Super Pumas won the Polar Bear Relays with wins in the 100m & Turbo
Jav competitions. 2nd place went to team Better Than Awesome
led by Sarah Wilcock with 3rd going to The Underdogs with head Bunny
Wrangler (shown below) Josh Gordon anchoring the 400m relay.
